The Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) is pleased to be partnering with New Castle County Government to hold a special Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the New Castle County Government Center located at 87 Reads Way in New Castle, DE. The event is being held from 8am-4pm and is free for all Delaware Residents. Household Hazardous Waste can include items such as household cleaners, garden pesticides, oil-based paints only (no latex paint will be accepted), nail polish, fluorescent bulbs, or antifreeze. This event is restricted to residents’ only, no commercial services. The event will be held rain or shine.
“We are delighted to partner with the DSWA in sponsoring this important event, which helps protect families and our environment. It’s a great lead-in to the following day’s Earth Day observance,” said County Executive Paul G. Clark.
Special Household Hazardous Waste EventDSWA is no longer permitted to accept medication during its Household Hazardous Waste events. Residents wishing to dispose of medication should contact the State of Delaware Board of Pharmacy at 302-744-4500.
